I disappear inside the fantasy of daydreams, stories, books, TV shows and movies because my reality sucks and at least in that world I feel like I can belong. Because if I'm reading a story or watching a movie and something funny happens I can laugh even as the tear streaks dry on my face from events in my sucky reality. And because these make believe worlds that I'm able to dive into exist I know that there is hope that sucky with be a thing of the past and turn into cool, or fun, or interesting or just plain awesome. And that dreaming can one day become a reality, because I have to believe that there is something better out there and that this isn't all there is because it would so suck if it was.

Lists, Lists everywhere and not a page to spare.... Oh yeah so not a mariners... anyway in preparation for the trip I'm taking next week, I've been making lists. I'm a list making person. A neurotic list making person anyway... A list to do around my place before I leave, a list of total items to take, a list for the checked bag, a list for my carry-on bag, a list for what I'm going to do, a list of books, a list of dvd's. Way, to many lists I dare say. But preparing never hurt anyone.

Okay, I don't claim to be an expert, or even close to an expert. But I've been obsessed with Airplane books and those shows where they investigate Airplane crashes. And I can honestly say that the plane didn't just fall out of the sky. (And this I can say with certainty because before I changed my major to political science I was a science major, and I know and understand physics to say that it just didn't happen.) Know that being said there are a lot of different things that could have happened, and because we are not getting much news, we just don't know much about it. But I can say that with almost complete certainty that the crash/lose of aircraft is due to catastrophic failure to the integrity of the aircraft. Something, either due to a problem with the plane in general or some other unknown cause that it resulted in the fact that the plane is not an intact airplane at this time. That may seem like a callous comment but this is the truth, that being said, I feel great sympathy for the people and their families. No the news media has to chill out with the lightning claims, and turbulence claims and all the other crazy claims that might cause some electrical malfunctions, it is doubtful that it would cause an airplane to stop being an airplane. As well, if an airplane lost power and engines it would not simply fall out of the sky. It was glide, and because of reasons of distance travelled, to be travelled, and other certainties in the airline industry, that it would have guided for a long distance, and as a result of this, it would have had the ability to work out a solution. But it is unlikely that this was a cause of the flight being lost and or crashing.
Sorry, end of long long crazy rant, it's just the news media love to scare people, and I think that people love getting freaked out and feeling a part of something that they have no real right to be a part of.
End of second rant.
ETA: Oh, and people, really get a clue, stupid comments, on all accounts. Either mean-spirited or just plain idiotic on showing how you really understand how the world works and that certain things said and claimed can make you look like you got dropped on your head when you were a child, just show that the world is filled with people who enjoy the misery of others and look to create their own place in a disaster that had nothing to do with them.
Yes, and I do talk like that, without talking a breath or stopping, so sometimes I write my rants like that.

The death rate from Swine flu (at the time that this post was written) is about 7% in Mexico.
In the United States, the with the first 8 cases all have recovered. So death rate is 0%.
The other cases in the United States, are still too new but the death rate in the US seems to be 0%.
Other cases of virus/diseases in the last few years and their death rates;
SARS (2002-2003); all cases: 6.9%, Death rate less than 1% for people less than 24 years of age, 6% for people aged 25-44, 15% for people aged 45 to 64 and more than 50% for people aged 65 and over.
Influenza: yearly death rates 0.6%
Malaria: 0.6-0.3% death rates a year, although most deaths are children (today is World Malaria Day.)
(All these numbers are case fatality rates.)

So far I'm loving this season of Dollhouse: Check it out.
But as fans of Joss Whedon's stuff knows, he has a knack for killing off fan faves. See this list after all.
Though I wonder you will bite the dust in this show.
Here are my thoughts:
1) Echo: The star can always die in a Whedon show. A la Buffy in Season 1 and Season 5. If Echo does die, she will come back, no doubt. Being the ultimate innocent and all. One because that's the way it works in this show, and Two Eliza Dushku is a producer.
2) Boyd Langton: He is Echo's handler and one of the few who sees that the Dollhouse is bad. He is helping to protect Echo and by doing that he feels that he is doing some good. He dies, it will make Echo become aware of being a doll. Though his odds I say are less, because he is the only person that she trusts right now. And well Joss has father figues around that are not really fathers. But they take the place of them, and to kill him off would be non kosher.
3) Adelle DeWitt - The leader of the Dollhouse. She sees what she's doing as something for the good of many. If she does die, it will be in the moments after she realises that it is morally and ethically wrong, and she was willing to help the dolls be free.
4) Topher Brink - I say little chance of him biting it unless they bring in another brain trust. He's safe, only because he is the only one at this time that can do what he's doing. He lacks the morals, therefore it is too soon for him to be killed off.
5) Paul Ballard - Just as safe as Echo. He's the person that's trying to get to the truth of the matter and in my opinion, he's the seond star to Echo. Therefore he has little chance of dying, only because there is no one else looking for the dollhouse. And he's the ultimate good guy, trying to right the wrongs.
6) Victor - Maybe, but I doubt it. He is the tool in the hands of those who run the dollhouse. He will die at one point, just not yet. He seems to be under complete control at this time, so there is not reason for him to die. Plus leading Paul away from the truth, that's his soul mission. If the truth comes out in this season, then he will die.
7) Sierra - Echo's 'best friend.' She has a chance of dying along with Boyd. Only because it will spur Echo into becoming aware of her situation. Otherwise I think that she may be a long termer because she will be Echo's friend.
8) Dr. Claire Saunders - I see her getting killed for many reasons. Depiste loving Amy Acker's work, she is a disposible character. There is both purpose for her to live and die, therefore making her a perfect, yet somewhat obvious choice to kill. Her death would also be a reason for Boyd to help end the sitution. They seem to both realize that the dolls are victims. They are the two characters inside the establishment, that see the bad in the actions. Plus I hear Amy has a new show.
9) Laurence Dominic - Doubt it unless it's the whole evil of the season like on Buffy. He is a bad seed and would kill anyone who got in the way. I see him being the 'killer' to protect the dollhouse. Plus if Adelle dies, then he is the bad seed left at the top, that we've seen, that will hurt the dolls.
10) Mellie - High chance only because it will be something that pushes Paul to find the truth. And it will be a piece of guilt that he will carry for the rest of the series. Though, she may not be as outside as we think. She is a lesser known as this time. I'd say Victor or Larry kills her, or plays a huge role in her death.
11) Alpha - Maybe, high, because he is like the vampries on Buffy. A person who at the begining is inoncent, but it is too late to solve the probelms now.
I heard that Joss has a five year plan. This is my guess how it will go.
Season 1: Echo more and more aware. Season finale, realizes that she is a pawn.
Season 2: Works to get free. Is free with other dolls trying to make it in the world. Season finale, gets captured.
Season 3: Is a doll again. Works as a doll while she has a tight leash on her. Those on outside work to help. Season finale: freed and the dollhouse falls.
Season 4: Trying to be a normal person again. Works hard at it. Season finale: hears that there is something amack
Season 5: An old foe puts Echo and all the former dolls and othes involved at risk.
But hey that is all just guesses, and everyone knows that Joss Whedon is good at surprising us, and bendin the 'rules' of TV.
Here's hoping to a good run and lots and twists and turns.

Grey's has done a lot of crazy and stupid things over the past few seasons but this is the episode that almost made me stop watching the show. Yes, it's just a show, but I have a big problem with murders getting any kind of respect or compassion. And it was so unrealistic and filled with immoral and unethical actions by characters who are usually very moral and ethical. Yes I know just a TV show, but I have a thing against murders and violent criminals. Okay, down off my high horse now, sorry for this, had to get it out.
Though the Mark/Lexie storyline was cute and funny and the Izzie finally realizing that Denny was there because she's sick made him being there not so stupid anymore.

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test...
Outcast Genius
65 % Nerd, 78% Geek, 57% Dork

For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.
Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).
Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.
Congratulations!

With the 7th anniversary of that fateful coming up I've realized something, the more time that passes the less I remember. There was a time where I thought about it a lot. More then you'd think you could think about something. Then it was a daily bases event. I thought about it once a day, sometimes more. That went on for a few years. But now, after watching a video that was shown at the GOP convention I've realized that it's been a while since I've thought about that day. And I think that is a scary thought. Because once you start to forget about it you are doomed to repeat it. And I hope I'm one of the few that are starting to forget. I hope it's just my early-20's college life of self-centerdness that has made the memories and reminders fade. Because it will be a scary day, a scary time when the whole world forgets and we are hurt again.

I think that the women of America and the Western world should be proud that a Republican woman could very well be the next Vice President of the United States of America. There are those that say that she should not be the VP because she can't even keep her family in check. But I think this is false. Just because her daughter is having a baby, it does not mean that she, Governor Sarah Palin, is any less able to lead a country then keep her teenage daughter in line. Heck, I see this as something that makes her even more like every other American family. Around 900,000 teenagers get pregnant every year. This is a lot of kids. And with Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol getting pregnant I think this will make her more able to understand what Americans are going through.
Okay Sarah kicked ass today. She kicked ass. Speaking ass. I can say that she has gotten me excited about the election. And I can't wait. More at a later date....I have my first day of classes tomorrow...need sleep.

Okay. I'm 'pimping.' Okay not pimping. I'll Force you. No that's not right either...demand? No. Tell? No....dammit. Okay ask and recommend that you all tune into what will be a great show. Well an on-line sing-along blog. That's it. Okay you should all tune in. And tell people to tune in. Because even though there is very little known about it, well it is sure to rock. How could it not? Joss Whedon is one of the people who created it. And he's a genius. Don't believe me, okay I'll show y'all some evidence and you can decide if you want to tune in.
Exhibit 1: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And it had a great musical episode: Once more, with feeling. Season eight comics.

Exhibit 2: Angel. Season 'six' comics: After the Fall.

Exhibit 3: Firefly. Plus it's follow up comics

Exhibit 4: Serenity.

Okay. If you don't believe me, tune in, well log on, and url-it? a word. No but go do it. I know what I'm talking about. I'm super smart. Okay only kind of but I know good tv. Hello, name's tvjunkie, that means that all that TV I've tuned into means that I've learn something. So on July 15th, July 17 and July 19th, despite the fact that it's summer, sit your asses down in front of a computer. Doesn't have to be your own computer. Just any computer, commandeer one. As long as you do it in a lawful and way that doesn't hurt anyone just sit in front of it and check it out. Okay you have up until July 20th to check it out. After that it wouldn't be free....oh I didn't mention it did I. Okay. Up until the 20th this three part special is free. Tell me what's better then what is sure to be a great show, for free. It's summer and all that is available is bad tv, aka sucky reality TV and bad shows that couldn't hack it during the normal run. After that free period, it wouldn't be gone forever, you can get it, for a price...I don't know how, don't ask me, I'm just spreading the word. But it'll be out there somehow. And I'm saying this now, because If there is one thing that I can't stand, beside 'reality TV' is people pirating TV shows, and movies that people work really hard on. This show which will undoubtedly be great was done cheaply. And people need to get paid. So don't even think about sticking it to the man. There are many people who work on many different projects and parts of TV shows, movies, and this that aren't rich and that only make a little money compared to others. Plus this the people, all of them from director, to stars to the guy who holds the boom mike and everyone else's work. Some of them may have money coming out of their asses, but it isn't right for you to steal from them. So watch for free when you can, but after that shell out some cash if you really like it. Because I bet you can afford it, and if not, well save, because that's what I and millions of other poor people do. Okay I've stepped off my soap box, kinda twisted my ankle coming down.
Okay... what's it called you ask...how could I forget. Okay this web-series will star Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, M.D; How I met Your mother,) Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Serenity, Waitress,) and Felicia Day (Buffy, Bring it on Again, The Guild.) And it will be called Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Hmm. can I be anymore stick it down your throat. We don't know much about it. But for more click the big picture to take you to the site and there will be some info there. Plus take a look at the comic. Take a look at all of it.
Check out: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy comics, Season eight comics, Angel, Angel comics, After the Fall, Firefly, Firefly comics, and Serenity. (If you haven't already, and if you have check them out again.) Oh and come January 2009, Dollhouse.
Yeah I know wikipedia, but there is more then enough basic information there to peak your interest, and tons of links if you want to see more, which I know you will. Plus Dark Horse, for other great comics. And I'm done with my spiel.
(Oh, and btw I'm not getting paid to say any of this and all property, eg pictures, storylines, names, titles, and websites belong to those who created them, Fox, userbars.org, wikipedia, Joss Whedon, etc [if I left anyone out sorry, tell me and I'll be sure to credit them.] I do not make any money or profit from everything I have up on this page, I'm just a poor college junior who loves good TV/movies/entertainment, and just want to share it. So don't sue if I used something without permission, tell me and I'll credit you or if you want take it down.)
Okay one more thing, tune in...it'll be so great-y.

So the writers strike is over and it means that our favorite shows could be back in no time.
Or Not???
According to some sources the strike may be over but that may mean nothing until the fall.
Some show are set to go back into production right away, Grey's Anatomy, Samantha Who, The CSI's, NCIS, Numb3rs, Cold Case, Shark, Without a Trace, Law & Order: SVU, among others.
But some shows, one of my personal fav's if it goes back into production this season it might not be right away,
Some of the shows, while back in production might not be seen until the fall.
That in my opinion is a bad idea.
Me, a honest to goodness television junkie, well the season, even before the strike started just wasn't up to snuff.
Some of this shows, with their well below par episodes, have lost me as a fan, and some are hanging on by a thread.
True there are some shows that with be in the plus column and there would be nothing that could change my opinion of them. (Grey's Anatomy, Numb3rs, House)
Then there are some that I thought I would always like and they fell short, and I walked away, or in this case I guess you could say I changed the channel. (CSI: NY)
Then there are those that I found during the strike, and I just hope they return, (Women's Murder Club)
Then there are those that are barely hanging on in my opinion, (NCIS, Shark, among a few others.)
I'd say that the strike came back just in time for a lot of shows, but I think it has come too late for other shows.
Now hopefully the Actors settle before their contracts expire, or when might be even worse off then now.

Also here is link to expected return dates of shows
Link to CBS renews for next season.....Let me just say YES, my all time number 1 show, Numb3rs is back, along with other favs, Cold Case, and CSI's.
Return dates and renewals; NBC, CBS, and ABC
